JAILED FOR THREATENING TO KILL EX-WIFE AND FAMILY
A man who issued violent threats against his ex-wife, alleging she was having an affair with his brother, has been sentenced to prison.Jasbir Singh, 55, who has no fixed residence, told staff at Bristol Royal Infirmary that he planned to kill his ex-wife, his brother, and himself.
He reiterated these threats to police, stating he would: "Dig her eyes out and feed her to the pigs." In August, Singh pleaded guilty to violating a non-molestation order and making two threats to kill.
The judge, Martin Picton, sentenced him to 16 months behind bars and granted an indefinite restraining order to restrict contact with certain individuals.
Court reports indicated Singh had visited his ex-wife’s workplace and accused her of having an affair.
Two days later, during a hearing at Bristol Crown Court, he declared his intention to kill his ex-wife, brother, and himself.
On that same day, police were told of his threats to disfigure and harm his former partner, including burning her.
Singh admitted to breaching the court order.
Prosecutor Ieuan Callaghan mentioned that Singh refused to leave his remand cell for sentencing and declined to do so again.
The court was informed that there were no mental health issues involved, so the judge proceeded to impose the sentence in Singh's absence.
Singh had previously made threats against his ex-wife, brother, and himself, claiming he was "the judge and jury" and that he was coming for them all.
The court highlighted the seriousness of his threats and the violation of court orders.
