HUBBERSTON MAN JAMIE HUGHES ESCAPES JAIL AFTER HORRIFIC CHILD PORN DISCOVERY IN MILFORD

In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Milford and the surrounding areas, Jamie Hughes, a 34-year-old resident of Wentworth Close in Hubberston, was found to possess an alarming collection of indecent images and videos depicting children in various states of abuse. The investigation was initiated when police officers attended Hughes' address in November 2023, following suspicions related to his online activity.

As law enforcement officials prepared to search Hughes' electronic devices, he reportedly made a chilling admission, stating, “It’s me. It’s on my computer,” indicating his awareness of the incriminating material stored on his devices. The police discovered approximately 1,600 indecent images on Hughes’ gaming laptop, which were classified into different categories based on severity. The most serious, Category A, included 409 images, while Category B comprised 256 images, and Category C contained 886 images.

The content uncovered was profoundly disturbing and included a collage of naked children aged between two and nine being whipped, a video showing a dog performing a sexual act on a baby estimated to be between six months and a year old, and footage of a child aged five to seven being raped by an adult male. The files had explicit titles such as “paedo videos” and “young girls and boys,” and Hughes’ internet browsing history revealed searches like “cute pre-teen girls” and “porn pre-teen,” further illustrating his disturbing interests.

Hughes was interviewed by police twice, first on November 29, 2023, where he chose not to comment beyond admitting to possessing indecent images. During a subsequent interview in September 2024, he confessed to the wrongdoing, claiming that he wanted to delete the material but denied deriving any sexual pleasure from it. However, Judge Paul Thomas KC dismissed Hughes’ claims, stating, “I’m not going to accept for one moment that he gained no sexual gratification and did not masturbate to them.”

Despite the severity of the evidence, Hughes was sentenced to a 10-month prison term, which was suspended for two years. As part of his sentence, he is required to complete 26 sessions of the Building Choices accredited programme, along with additional rehabilitation activities. Furthermore, Hughes is mandated to register as a sex offender for ten years and was issued a sexual harm prevention order by the court, emphasizing the seriousness of his offences and the ongoing risk he poses to the community.
