LIVERPOOL MAN PLEADS GUILTY TO VIOLENT ASSAULT AND THREATS
During the court session, James White, 38, of Yelverton, Tranmere, pleaded guilty to assault by beating.
The case was deferred for further sentencing documentation and is awaiting a pre-sentence report.
The victim, described as his partner, detailed suffering a severe assault where White violently attacked her; this included grabbing her in a chokehold, throwing her to the ground, slapping her, and threatening her life while under the influence of alcohol.
She recounted that White threatened to 'make her child's life a living hell' if she reported the incident, and warned that his family would burn her house down.
The judge, Healey, emphasized the severity of these offences which are too serious for magistrates court jurisdiction, and bailed White to appear at Liverpool Crown Court for sentencing on March 27.
