TRAMERE PEDOPHILE GLEN MCIVER SENTENCED FOR CHILD ABUSE IMAGES INDICTMENT

In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Tranmere, Glen McIver, a 67-year-old former college lecturer, was sentenced to 10 months in prison after being found guilty of possessing a large collection of child abuse images. The revelation of his secret collection has brought to light the extent of his involvement in illegal activities.

McIver, who resided on Milton Road in Tranmere, was discovered to have been actively engaging in online chat rooms where he communicated with other individuals sharing similar perverted interests. During these conversations, he not only exchanged disturbing material but also arranged for a young girl from Romania, approximately 12 years old, to send him indecent selfies. This behavior underscores the severity of his criminal conduct and his deliberate pursuit of illicit content involving minors.

The case was brought before Judge David Aubrey, QC, who addressed the court with a stern tone. He highlighted that McIver, who was employed as a cultural studies lecturer at Wirral Met College, had accumulated a library of 5,714 indecent images and videos depicting children. The judge emphasized that while McIver had previously served his community as a councillor, school governor, and college lecturer, these serious offenses warranted a significant custodial sentence.

Judge Aubrey described the situation as revealing a “dark, dark secret” that McIver had kept hidden for some time. The court was told that despite his outward appearances of community service and involvement, his actions betrayed a profound violation of trust and the law. The sentence reflects the gravity of his crimes and the need to protect society from individuals who engage in such heinous activities involving minors.
