A man aged 68 was arrested after sending a sexual image of himself to a person he believed to be a minor.
James McColl, who lives in Dundee’s Logie district, pleaded guilty to the offence at his home on May 1, 2024.
He admitted that he had sent a photo of his genitals to who he thought was a young boy, but the recipient was actually an adult male pretending to be a child.
McColl, from Ancrum Place, acknowledged that his actions aimed to make a child view a sexual image.
At Dundee Sheriff Court, he received a sentence of supervision and was added to the sex offenders register for a year.
Sheriff John Rafferty also mandated that he carry out 136 hours of unpaid work as part of his punishment.
