JAMES KING FROM LONGSIGHT SENTENCED FOR SEXUAL ABUSE IN MANCHESTER AND DIDSBURY

In a case that has shocked the local community, James Dominic King, a resident of Longsight, was sentenced to a total of six years and four months in prison at Manchester Crown Court on Wednesday, 11 April 2018. The court heard how King, born on 6 May 1965, had pleaded guilty to multiple serious charges related to the sexual abuse of a young girl, with the offences spanning several years during her childhood.

King was convicted of one count of rape, specifically sexual intercourse with a girl under the age of 13, along with charges of indecent assault on a child and indecency. The abuse reportedly began in the 1970s, when the victim was still under 10 years old, and King was only 11 at the time. Over an extended period of approximately eight years, the offender repeatedly subjected the girl to sexual assault at a residence in Withington. As the years progressed, the abuse intensified, culminating in King forcing himself on her and raping her systematically at a property in Didsbury.

The disturbing pattern of abuse persisted until the victim reached her teenage years, at which point the assaults ceased. The victim, demonstrating remarkable courage, confided in her family about the abuse, which eventually led her to report the crimes to police in April 2016. Following a thorough investigation by law enforcement officers, King was arrested and charged with the offences. During court proceedings, he ultimately admitted to the charges, acknowledging his guilt.
