JAMES KELVIN FROM BRISTOL CAUGHT WITH HUNDREDS OF CHILD INDECENT IMAGES
A man identified as James Kelvin, with connections to Cornwall and currently residing in Bristol, has admitted to the possession and creation of a significant number of indecent images depicting children. The allegations span a period of over two years, during which Kelvin was found to have produced and stored hundreds of such illicit materials.Kelvin, aged 51 and originally from Bishop's Stortford, appeared at Bristol Crown Court on Monday, June 23, where he faced serious charges related to child exploitation. The court was informed that between November 15, 2019, and October 8, 2021, Kelvin had generated a total of 640 images classified as 'Category C', indicating a lower level of severity but still illegal. In addition, he possessed 46 images categorized as 'Category B', which are considered more serious, and 37 images deemed the most severe, labeled 'Category A'. Among these were two video clips, further highlighting the gravity of his offenses.
The case was previously brought before Bristol Magistrates' Court in May, where Kelvin pleaded guilty to additional charges, including the creation of pseudo-photos—images that are artificially generated but depict children in indecent scenarios—and voyeurism. These charges underscore the disturbing nature of his activities and the potential harm inflicted.
During the hearing, Judge James Patrick was informed of Kelvin's background and the extent of his offenses. Kelvin, who was residing in Bristol at the time of the crimes, was granted conditional bail. The judge ordered a pre-sentence report to be prepared, which will provide further insight into Kelvin's circumstances and the severity of his actions. Kelvin was instructed to cooperate fully with the report's compilation and was warned that when he returns for sentencing scheduled for August 21, he could face a prison sentence. The case continues to be closely monitored as authorities seek justice for the victims and ensure appropriate legal consequences for Kelvin's actions.
