JAMES HOLLINGSWORTH SENTENCED TO 16 YEARS FOR SEXUAL OFFENSES IN OLDBURY

A man from Oldbury, James Hollingsworth, has been handed down a significant prison sentence of 16 years following his conviction on multiple serious charges related to sexual offenses. Hollingsworth, whose address is listed as Pinkney Place in Oldbury, was found guilty of heinous acts including the rape and sexual assault of a woman, as well as engaging in controlling and coercive behavior that caused significant harm.

The case came to light after the victim bravely reported the assault to West Midlands Police. Following her report, law enforcement authorities swiftly moved to arrest Hollingsworth, who was subsequently charged with two counts of rape, two counts of sexual assault, and coercive control. Despite his denial of the allegations, the evidence presented during the trial at Wolverhampton Crown Court proved sufficient for a conviction.

On the 23rd of May, 2025, Hollingsworth was formally sentenced to serve 16 years behind bars. In addition to his prison term, he has been placed on the sex offenders register for life, a measure designed to monitor and restrict his activities post-release. Furthermore, a restraining order has been issued against him, preventing any contact with the victim or other potential victims.

Investigating officer PC Nathan Lawrence expressed his thoughts on the case, stating, "The woman who came forward to tell us about Hollingsworth has shown immense courage after suffering a truly horrific ordeal. From her initial report, through to the trial, our expert officers have tried their best to support her, and we commend her bravery.
