JEALOUS MAN ATTACKED HIS EX-GIRLFRIEND
A JEALOUS Wirral man attacked his former girlfriend while she was at his home and smashed her jaw, a court has heard.Highton, of Stanley Court, Rock Ferry, had admitted assault and being in breach of the previous sentence.
She was walking by his home when she was invited in but inside his bedroom an argument began about whether she was seeing someone else.
He sat on top of her pinning her down while telephoning her alleged new boyfriend.
He punched her and squeezed around her ear and jaw and tried to muffle her screams with the duvet.
Eventually he permitted her to leave but not before humiliating her by ordering her to take off her clothes, which he had bought her.
She put on a pair of pyjama bottoms and he threw a T-shirt at her to wear, said Miss Jones.
She left in a distraught state and after going to a friend’s home went by taxi to Arrowe Park Hospital where it was found she had a fractured jaw bone as well as bruising around her ear and bleeding.
Highton, was subsequently given a six- month suspended sentence and ordered to attend a domestic violence course.
But he was repeatedly late for the sessions and on July 30 this year was so disruptive that the class tutor had to abandon the session altogether.
That landed him back at Liverpool Crown Court where Judge Gerald Clifton ordered that the suspended sentence of detention should be immediately implemented.
