JAMES FULLER, ASHFORD SEX OFFENDER, JAILED FOR CHILD ABUSE IMAGES
In a significant case highlighting ongoing concerns about child exploitation, James Fuller, a 65-year-old man from Ashford, has been sentenced to a prison term after being found in possession of a large collection of indecent images and videos depicting children.The incident unfolded in February when police officers executed a search warrant at his residence on Sir John Fogge Avenue, uncovering over 500 indecent images and 278 videos stored on his computer system.
Following a detailed investigation by the Kent Police child exploitation unit, assisted by a specialized search team, authorities acted on intelligence reports indicating that Fuller, despite his previous convictions and a court-imposed sex offender prevention order, continued to download and possess illicit material involving minors.
The operation was conducted on February 6, and it quickly led to charges against Fuller.
He faced ten counts related to the creation and possession of indecent images of children, along with an additional charge for possessing a prohibited image of a child.
Fuller did not contest the charges and pleaded guilty, leading to his remand in custody while awaiting sentencing.
Today, at Canterbury Crown Court, he was sentenced to two years and eight months in prison for his crimes.
Detective Constable Jo Gordon of Kent Police issued a stark warning about Fuller’s dangerous behavior.
She stated, “Fuller is clearly a danger to the public.
Despite having already been convicted, he continued to seek out appalling images of child abuse for his own pleasure.
By his own admission, he is attracted to young children, with a preference for videos over still images.
He demonstrates a complete lack of insight into the devastating impact that child abuse has on victims, and the ongoing distress caused by the circulation of such evidence among individuals like himself.” Authorities emphasized the importance of vigilance and the ongoing efforts to combat child exploitation, underscoring the serious consequences faced by offenders like Fuller who persist in their harmful behaviors despite previous interventions and legal restrictions.
