JAMES FRAME UDDINGSTON PENSIONER SENT TO PRISON FOR CHILD MOLESTATION IN LANARKSHIRE
In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Uddingston, Lanarkshire, James Frame, a 67-year-old man, was sentenced to 18 months in prison after being found guilty of multiple charges related to the sexual abuse of young girls.The incident, which took place over several years, involved heinous acts committed within the comfort of Frame's own home, leaving a lasting impact on the victims and their families.
According to court records, Frame, a former long-distance lorry driver, targeted two young girls, aged seven and four, between January 1983 and December 1987.
The abuse was carried out in a particularly sinister manner, with Frame creeping into the seven-year-old girl’s bedroom while she was sleeping.
During these terrifying episodes, he sexually molested her, all the while threatening or intimidating her to keep silent.
The young girl’s four-year-old sister was present during at least one of these incidents, witnessing her sibling’s distress and terror, which added a further layer of trauma to the ordeal.
The court heard that Frame’s misconduct extended beyond his home.
He was also convicted of touching the younger girl during an afternoon walk in Blantyre, another location where he exploited his position of trust and vulnerability of the children.
Relatives of the victims, visibly distressed and angry, had to be restrained by court officials as Frame was led away to begin his sentence.
The emotional scene underscored the gravity of the crimes committed and the community’s outrage over the abuse.
Frame’s defense lawyer, Mr.
Andy Iles, argued that his client’s health was in decline and that he should be spared imprisonment.
He emphasized that Frame was a first-time offender and suggested that he posed little risk of reoffending.
However, the prosecution and the court took a different view.
Sheriff Simon Pender, presiding over the case, sentenced Frame to 18 months behind bars.
In his judgment, the sheriff cited concerns for public safety and the seriousness of the offenses as primary reasons for the custodial sentence.
The court also noted that Frame had recently been forced to leave a nursing home after it was attacked by gangs, highlighting ongoing issues related to his well-being and the safety of others.
As Frame was taken away to serve his sentence, the community of Uddingston and the wider Lanarkshire area was left to grapple with the disturbing details of the case and the lasting scars left on the young victims and their families.
