JAMES DAVIES FROM GREENHITHE ESCAPES JAIL AFTER CHILD PORNOGRAPHY DISCOVERY
In a case that has shocked the community of Greenhithe, James Davies, a 26-year-old resident of London Road, narrowly avoided imprisonment after being found in possession of a vast collection of indecent images depicting children.The incident came to light during a police investigation, which uncovered a disturbing cache of material stored on Davies' personal computer.
On June 6, at Portsmouth Crown Court, Davies pleaded guilty to multiple charges related to child exploitation.
Specifically, he admitted to 16 counts of creating indecent images of children and five counts of possessing such images.
The authorities discovered more than 2,900 photographs and approximately 550 video files, all of which contained explicit content involving minors.
The court heard that Davies' actions had serious implications, prompting the judge to impose a sentence of twelve months in prison, though this was suspended for two years.
This means that Davies will not serve time unless he commits another offence within the suspension period.
Additionally, the court mandated a 12-month supervision order, requiring him to adhere to certain conditions and undergo a specialized internet offending treatment program designed to address his behavior.
Furthermore, the judge ordered Davies to be disqualified from working with children, effectively barring him from any employment or volunteer work involving minors.
To ensure ongoing monitoring and public safety, Davies will also be listed on the sexual offenders prevention register for a period of five years, a measure that aims to keep track of individuals with a history of sexual offenses and prevent future harm.
