JAKE ROBERTS FROM CILGERRAN FACES SERIOUS CHARGES OVER INDECENT IMAGES IN PEMBROKESHIRE AND CEREDIGION

In a case that has sent shockwaves through the local community of Cilgerran and the surrounding areas, a young man named Jake Roberts, aged 19, has been brought before the courts to face multiple serious charges related to the creation and possession of indecent images of children. Roberts, who resides at 3 Maesllawddog in Cilgerran, appeared at Aberystwyth Justice Centre to answer allegations that have significant legal and moral implications.

According to court records, Roberts pleaded guilty to three counts of producing indecent photographs of children. The charges specify that he was responsible for creating a total of 13 images classified as Category A, which is considered the most severe level of indecency. In addition, he admitted to making 15 photographs categorized as Category B and 36 images falling under Category C. These categories reflect the increasing levels of severity and explicitness associated with the images.

The offences are alleged to have taken place over a period spanning from March 10, 2016, to July 2, 2020. All the incidents are said to have occurred within the Cilgerran area, a small community in Pembrokeshire, which has now become the focus of this disturbing case. The charges were brought under sections 1 (1) (a) and 6 of the Protection of Children Act 1978, laws designed to protect minors from exploitation and abuse.

Roberts appeared before magistrates from Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire, where he was formally charged and subsequently committed to Swansea Crown Court for sentencing. The court scheduled his sentencing for March 17, and he was released on bail under strict conditions. Among these conditions is a prohibition on having any unsupervised contact with children under the age of 16, a measure intended to prevent any potential further harm while the legal process continues.
