In a disturbing case that has shocked the local community, Jaime Ogden, a 41-year-old resident of Burnham Road, Latchingdon, has admitted to possessing and creating a significant number of indecent images involving minors. The allegations against Ogden include the production and distribution of over 1,000 illicit images and videos, some of which are classified as the most severe category of child exploitation material. The charges were formally brought against Ogden during a hearing at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court last Thursday. The court documents reveal that between January 1 and April 1 of this year, Ogden was found to have made 78 Category B images and 24 Category B videos depicting a child in Maldon. These materials were discovered on his personal laptop, which was seized during the investigation.
Further charges specify that during the same period, Ogden created an additional 24 indecent images and 86 videos of a child, with these materials classified as Category A, indicating the most severe level of abuse. The court also heard that Ogden was responsible for producing a total of 1,114 images and 18 videos categorized as Category C, which are considered less severe but still highly illegal and disturbing.
In addition to the child exploitation charges, Ogden faces a serious allegation involving an extreme pornographic image that depicted a person performing a sexual act with an animal. This particular charge underscores the disturbing nature of the materials involved in the case.
Another charge relates to the possession of a prohibited image of a child, which was allegedly found on Ogden’s device between January 12 and 13. All these charges paint a picture of a deeply troubling case involving the exploitation of minors and animal abuse.
Jaime Ogden appeared before the magistrates and admitted to all the charges. His next court appearance is scheduled for December 5 at Chelmsford Crown Court, where he will face sentencing. Until then, Ogden remains on conditional bail, subject to strict conditions set by the court, as the investigation continues and the legal process moves forward.
