A 20-year-old man named Jack Watson has admitted to engaging in a pattern of abusive conduct directed towards his former partner, with incidents spanning nearly a year and taking place across the towns of Irvine and Kilwinning. The court was informed that Watson’s abusive actions began after the couple’s relationship was forced into a temporary living arrangement following a fallout between Watson and his partner’s father.

According to court records, Watson repeatedly subjected his partner to verbal abuse, calling her derogatory names such as "fat," "obese," and "tramp." These insults were not isolated incidents but part of a sustained campaign of emotional and psychological torment. In early summer 2022, the situation escalated dramatically when Watson physically assaulted his pregnant partner by choking her and repeatedly striking her in the face. Despite the severity of this assault, she chose not to report the incident at the time, fearing that doing so might lead to the end of their relationship.

The couple later relocated to Kilwinning, where Watson’s abusive behavior persisted. Witnesses and court testimony revealed that he continued to make degrading comments about her weight and even mocked her stitches from childbirth. His threats of violence grew more alarming, with statements indicating he would "rape and murder" her, further illustrating the dangerous and unpredictable nature of his conduct.

Additional episodes of violence included Watson jumping onto her bed and slapping her, spitting at her during arguments, and issuing threats to kill her or abandon their child. The police were called after reports of his disturbing behavior, which led to a confrontation in a garden shed where Watson was found hiding. When officers arrived, he attempted to flee the scene but was apprehended.
