SOUTHPORT MAN JAILED FOR ONLINE CHILD SEX OFFENSES AND INDECENT IMAGES
A mother was left "furious" after uncovering that a convicted sex offender had been messaging her teenage daughter on TikTok.Jack Spencer, aged 31 of Alexandra Road in Southport, used the social media platform to offer the girl £500 for sex.
Spencer's plan was halted the following day when her mother conducted a routine check on her daughter's account, revealing that Spencer had been sending similar messages to numerous other children, having also downloaded a vile collection of indecent images.
Liverpool Crown Court heard that Spencer contacted the girl via TikTok in January last year using the username "Jack47." The 31-year-old, from Southport, then inquired if she was single and asked her age, before commenting, "Great set of t**s by the way." Prosecutor David Watson described how the teenager informed Spencer she was only 15.
Spencer responded, "Oh s***, sorry.
I wouldn't have said that if I knew your age, you look way older." He continued to make inappropriate comments about her breasts and asked if she was a virgin, offering her "£500 to take it" or a "couple of hundred" for other sexual acts.
When her mother discovered the messages, she attempted to contact Spencer from her daughter's account but was blocked.
Police attended Spencer's home on July 1, 2024, and found a collection of indecent images of children on his phone, including 198 Category A images depicting the most serious abuse, with children as young as four.
He also possessed 119 Category B images with children as young as two, 196 images in Category C, and seven extreme pornographic images involving bestiality.
Evidence showed further sexualized conversations with apparent children on TikTok, though he was not charged for these Discussions.
Despite no previous convictions, Spencer had a sexual risk order from 2015 when a 15-year-old alleged he requested indecent images in exchange for an iPad.
He was also involved in chats with a 14-year-old from another jurisdiction about flying out of the country for sexual activities, but was not charged due to insufficient evidence of sole account access.
Spencer admitted to engaging in sexual communications with a child, attempting to arrange a child sex offence, making three counts of creating indecent images of children, and possessing extreme pornographic images.
Appearing in court in a wheelchair, he was sentenced to three years and four months in prison.
The judge, Ian Harris, emphasized that Spencer failed to heed warnings from a previous sexual risk order and noted his health issues, including spina bifida and hydrocephalus.
The judge acknowledged Spencer's mental health struggles, stating, "He has not tried to minimise his involvement, and he is motivated to address his problems." He highlighted the seriousness of the offences but recognized the offender's health conditions.
Spencer was sentenced to prison, handed a lifelong sexual harm prevention order, and banned from contacting the victim indefinitely, also required to register as a sex offender for life.
