WIRRAL AIRLINE PILOT SENTENCED OVER DOWNLOADING IMAGES OF CHILDREN
AN airline pilot from Wirral has been sentenced after pleading guilty to downloading hundreds of indecent images of children.
Jack Rowland, 32, appeared at Liverpool Magistrates Court on Friday, February 20 2026, for sentencing after earlier entering guilty pleas to three offences of making an indecent photograph / pseudo-photograph of a child.
The court heard that between August 1 2020 and April 17 2025, Rowland, of Albion Street, New Brighton, downloaded 336 Category C images, four Category B images and six Category A images.
Category A images refer to the most severe classification of child sexual abuse material.
Rowland had worked as a pilot for easyJet but the business confirmed he was suspended immediately following his arrest and no longer worked for the airline.
Rowland was made the subject of an 18 month community order and must attend the Building Better Choices programme for 26 days, undertake 15 days of a rehabilitation activity requirement and complete 200 hours of unpaid work.
He must also sign the Sex Offenders Register for five years.
