A man convicted of multiple child sexual offenses has received a prison term of six years.
Christopher Smith, aged 41 and from New Brighton, appeared before Liverpool Crown Court on Friday, February 17, 2023, where he admitted to several charges.
His offenses included engaging in sexual acts with a minor, producing indecent images of a child, circulating such images, and taking indecent photographs of a young person.
Smith was taken into custody by Merseyside Police on November 18, 2022.
This case was the result of an investigation led by the police's Specialist Online Child Abuse Investigation Team (OCAIT), a unit tasked with tackling online child exploitation.
