NEWBRIDGE PAEDOPHILE HAD DOZENS OF CHILD ABUSE IMAGES
A paedophile was convicted of possessing dozens of child abuse images.Jack Purnell, 22, of Alexandra Place, Newbridge, pleaded guilty to three counts of making an indecent photograph of a child.
Prosecutor Alex Granville told Cardiff Crown Court that Purnell had 47 category A images, the most serious classification.
He also admitted possession of 18 category B images and 19 at category C.
The offences occurred between October 12, 2023, and April 17, 2025.
His barrister Gareth Williams described Purnell as remorseful.
The judge, Recorder Christian Jowett, sentenced him to 12 months' imprisonment suspended for 18 months, required him to complete 225 hours of unpaid work, attend a 26-day accredited programme, and finish a five-day rehabilitation activity.
Purnell must register as a sex offender for 10 years and is subject to a 10-year sexual harm prevention order.
Additionally, a £187 surcharge and £150 costs were imposed.
