CARDIFF MAN JAILED AFTER BRUTAL DOMESTIC ASSAULT AND DRUG OFFENCES
A violent student smashed a window at his ex partner's home and went on to repeatedly kick her to the head to the point she thought she was going to be killed. He had earlier been found in possession of more than £3,000 worth of cannabis.
The incident occurred in Cardiff when Queeley arrived at his former partner's residence around 8.25pm on February 9 of the previous year, began banging on her door, and was told by a neighbour to leave.
He responded with insults, telling her to "Shut up you tramp, you aren't a big man." During the court hearing at Cardiff Crown Court, it was revealed that Queeley smashed her window and climbed into her property with a "crazed look in his eyes." He assaulted her by kicking her to the floor as she attempted to protect herself, then continued to attack her for five minutes, kicking her to the back of her head and arms, causing her to fear for her life.
He also took her outside and was observed by another neighbour kicking her forcefully.
In addition, he caused damage to her phone and hoover, and the victim sustained bruises over her body.
Prosecutor Kathryn Lane stated that Queeley was also dealt with for drug offences after police stopped him while driving in Roath on January 2, 2023, and found cannabis on him.
A subsequent search of his vehicle and home on January 3 resulted in the seizure of 309 grams of cannabis and 4.8 grams of cocaine, with a purity of 79%, valued between £2,400 and £3,090.
Two black iPhones and £119 in cash were also recovered, with examination revealing acts of supplying cannabis, designer strains, edibles, and trading high-end watches.
Queeley, of Helen Place in Adamsdown, pleaded guilty to multiple offences, including assault occasioning actual bodily harm, burglary, criminal damage, possession with intent to supply class B drugs, and possession of class A drugs.
Despite previous good character and no prior incidents of domestic violence, he was sentenced to 25 months in prison, serving half in custody before being released on licence, and was subject to a seven-year restraining order.
During mitigation, his lawyer noted that he was a student studying business and accountancy, previously attacked and stabbed multiple times, which resulted in him being on strong medication and drinking alcohol at the time.
