ISAAC ANDOH FROM OPENSHAW SENTENCED TO 25 YEARS FOR ABUSE OF TWO GIRLS IN MANCHESTER

In a harrowing case that has shocked the community, Isaac Andoh, a 43-year-old man from Openshaw, has been sentenced to 25 years in prison for a series of heinous sexual offenses committed against two young girls. The conviction follows a detailed trial at Manchester Crown Court, where the full extent of Andoh's predatory behavior was laid bare.

According to court proceedings, Andoh engaged in a prolonged campaign of sexual abuse against the victims from early 2018 through mid-2019. His actions included grooming one girl by making her feel special, taking her to McDonald's for her favorite meal, and then subjecting her to sexual assault. The court heard that he forced her to watch pornographic films and instructed her to imitate what she saw on screen, further traumatizing her.

In addition to abusing one girl, Andoh also sexually assaulted another young girl, with both victims being manipulated into keeping their abuse a secret. He told them that their silence was essential, and he even used a secret gesture—joining their hands in the shape of a love heart—to reinforce this sinister message.

The abuse only came to light when one of the girls confided in a family member about what Andoh had been doing to her. This revelation prompted an investigation, which ultimately led to his arrest and subsequent trial. The court heard how Andoh, who was a regular churchgoer, was a 'predatory, cunning, and manipulative paedophile,' as described by the judge.

He was found guilty of 17 separate sexual offenses, including three counts of rape, three counts of assault by penetration of a child under 13, ten counts of sexual assault of a child under 13, and one count of causing a child to watch a sexual act. The trial, held in January, revealed the extent of his calculated efforts to conceal his crimes, including attempts to prevent the victims from reporting what had happened.

Prosecutor Nicola Gatto highlighted how Andoh took deliberate steps to silence the victims, including the use of the 'secret' gesture and telling them to keep their experiences hidden. The court was also informed that Andoh had pleaded with the victims not to report his crimes, only to later face a jury that saw through his cowardly defenses.

Judge Hilary Manley addressed the court, emphasizing the gravity of Andoh's offenses and dismissing his previously good character as irrelevant given the seriousness of his crimes. She described him as 'every parent’s worst nightmare' and condemned his manipulative tactics.

In her sentencing remarks, Judge Manley stated, “I have to sentence you for grave crimes which you have committed against two little girls. You were and are a predatory, cunning, and manipulative paedophile—every parent’s worst nightmare.” She detailed how Andoh targeted one girl by making her feel special, taking her to McDonald's, and then abusing her sexually, all while insisting it be kept secret. The judge condemned his actions as unforgivable and noted his lack of remorse.

Andoh, who resides on Toxteth Street, was convicted of 17 offenses, including three counts of rape of a child under 13, three counts of assault by penetration of a child under 13, ten counts of sexual assault of a child under 13, and one count of causing a child to watch a sexual act. As part of his sentence, he was subjected to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order, which prohibits any unsupervised contact with children, and was ordered to register as a sex offender for life.

This case underscores the devastating impact of child sexual abuse and the importance of vigilance within communities to protect vulnerable children from predators like Isaac Andoh.
