IONUT MIHAI AND GATESHEAD MEN FACE SERIOUS SEX OFFENCE CHARGES INVOLVING UNDERAGE GIRLS

A disturbing series of allegations has led to six men being formally charged with serious sexual offences involving underage girls in the Gateshead area. The accused individuals are Codrin Dura, 25, Leonard Paun, 22, Stefan Ciuraru, 21, Bogdan Gugiuman, 43, Klaudio Aleksiu, 27, and Ionut Mihai, 27. These charges stem from incidents purportedly committed against six female victims, all under the age of 18, within the Gateshead region.

Authorities have emphasized the importance of avoiding speculation both within the community and on online platforms, warning that such actions could potentially jeopardize ongoing legal proceedings. The police have called for restraint and patience as the investigation continues to unfold.

Codrin Dura, who resides on Ripon Street in Bensham, Gateshead, faces a total of 17 charges. His allegations include eight counts of rape, four counts of sexual activity with a minor, one count of attempted rape, one count of assault by penetration, and one count of arranging or facilitating a child sex offence. Additionally, Dura is accused of supplying a Class A drug and blackmailing one of the victims.

Leonard Paun, living on Windsor Avenue in Saltwell, Gateshead, has been charged with 11 offences. His accusations include five counts of rape, two counts related to facilitating or arranging child sex offences, one count of sexual activity with a minor, one count of sexual assault, one count of distributing photographs of a child, and one count of supplying a Class A drug.

Stefan Ciuraru, from Brinkburn Avenue in Saltwell, Gateshead, faces six charges. These include four counts of sexual assault, one count of sexual activity with a minor, and one count of inciting or causing a child to engage in sexual activity.

Bogdan Gugiuman, who resides on Westbourne Avenue in Saltwell, Gateshead, has been charged with four counts of rape and one count of supplying a Class A drug. Meanwhile, Klaudio Aleksiu, from Church Terrace in Windsor, Berkshire, faces two counts of rape and one count of supplying a Class A drug.

Most notably, Ionut Mihai, of Claremont South Avenue in Bensham, Gateshead, has been charged with three counts of rape. All six men appeared before Newcastle Magistrates' Court last week, where they were released on conditional bail. Their next court appearance is scheduled for August at the same court, as the legal process continues to address these serious allegations.
