DOMESTIC VIOLENCE OFFENDER JAILED FOR ASSAULT AND DANGEROUS DRIVING
A man named Ibrar Hussain assaulted his ex-partner by pulling her by the hair and hitting her about the head in a parked vehicle.
The attack occurred in a Mirfield car park while Hussain was on bail for previous unwanted calls to the victim.
The victim, who had been in a relationship with Hussain for seven years, wanted to move on and have nothing more to do with him, but Hussain continued to harass her with abusive calls, which led her to contact police.
Hussain later drove away at high speed, leading police on a dangerous chase through Dewsbury, during which he ran red lights and drove on the wrong side of the road.
The assault in Mirfield resulted in the victim suffering bleeding, cuts, and swelling to her nose.
Earlier, Hussain was jailed for nine months at Leeds Crown Court for dangerous driving and malicious communication.
After the incident, Hussain was sentenced by Kirklees Magistrates Court to 12 weeks in jail and ordered to pay £125 in compensation, and he was released on bail for the initial charges.
The court's outcome reflects his continued abusive behavior despite previous custody, and it was noted that he had moved on and was hoping to reform his life.
