IAN LEE HINDLE AND BROTHER JAILED FOR ABUSE IN ANCHORSHOLME AND BLACKPOOL

In a disturbing case that has shocked the local community, two brothers from the Blackpool area have been sentenced to prison for their involvement in a series of heinous sexual offenses committed against a young girl over a decade ago.

Ian Warren Hindle, aged 30 and residing on Shelley Grove in Anchorsholme, was sentenced to six years in prison after being found guilty of two counts of rape. The crimes took place when he was approximately 14 years old, during the early 2000s, and involved abusing a girl who was just 10 years old at the time. The court proceedings, held at Preston Crown Court, saw Judge Heather Lloyd impose a lifelong notification requirement on Hindle, meaning he will be on the sex offenders register for the rest of his life.

The court heard that Hindle's offenses occurred at two different addresses within the Blackpool area, highlighting the disturbing nature of the abuse and its impact on the victim. The girl, whose identity remains protected for legal reasons, endured a series of traumatic experiences at the hands of Hindle during this period.

The second defendant, Lee Aaron Hindle, aged 29 and living on Pinewood Avenue in Bispham, received a sentence of 28 months in prison. He also faces a decade-long requirement to sign the Sex Offenders Register. Lee Hindle pleaded guilty to a charge of indecent assault against the same girl, and admitted to three counts of gross indecency committed when he was 13 years old. His crimes are linked to the same timeframe as his brother’s, but they are considered separate incidents.

The victim, who cannot be named publicly, reported the abuse to Blackpool Police in September 2015. She revealed that the sexual abuse had been ongoing for approximately four years, beginning when she was just 10 years old. The case underscores the importance of reporting such crimes, even years after they occur, and highlights the devastating impact of childhood sexual abuse on victims and their families.

Both brothers’ actions have left a lasting scar on the community, and their convictions serve as a stark reminder of the need for vigilance and support for victims of sexual violence.
