PREDATOR CAUGHT OUT BY BATMAN PYJAMAS AFTER UNDERCOVER POLICE PROBE
A man was snared in an undercover [police](https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/all-about/police-scotland/) sting after being identified by a pair of Batman pyjamas.Ian Rees, 63, struck up a conversation with a decoy account and quickly turned the chat sexual.
But he was unaware he was talking to an [officer](https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/all-about/police/) working to weed out predators as part of a probe dubbed Operation Cipio.
Rees sent a string of depraved messages to a fake account for a 12-year-old girl and then sent an explicit image of himself in February last year.
The photo showed a pair of pyjama bottoms with Batman logos and distinctive 'geometric' tiling on a toilet floor.
An investigation traced Rees to Scotland and his home in [Larkhall](https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/all-about/larkhall/) was raided.
Police found floor tiling and Batman pyjamas matched with the photo he had sent and he was arrested.
Rees appeared at [Hamilton Sheriff Court](https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/all-about/hamilton-sheriff-court/) and admitted communicating indecently with the 'girl' and causing her to look at a sexual image.
Sheriff Louise Gallacher deferred sentence on the first offender until January for reports and continued his bail.
Rees was placed on the sex offenders' register.
