ILKESTON MAN JAILED FOR STABBING GIRLFRIEND TO DEATH AFTER ARGUMENT
At the age of 49, Ian Meakin was convicted of manslaughter and sentenced to six years behind bars for the killing of his girlfriend, Angela Ward.The incident occurred following an argument within a flat complex situated in Ilkeston, Derbyshire.
According to law enforcement, Miss Ward suffered two stab wounds and passed away shortly after being transported to Nottingham’s Queen's Medical Centre.
During the court hearing, Meakin admitted to manslaughter.
Police noted that he had the chance to leave the scene but opted to respond with spite, which resulted in Ward’s death.
The judge at Nottingham Crown Court accepted his plea, imposing a six-year sentence.
