DUNDEE RAPIST IAN DONALDSON JAILED FOR SEVEN YEARS
Ian Donaldson, aged 51, was found guilty of several sexual crimes, including the rape of two women in Dundee over nearly ten years.During the court proceedings, it was revealed that Donaldson referred to himself as "a bam" when questioned about his behavior after administering pills to one of his victims.
The woman had secretly recorded his confession using a concealed tape recorder during an incident in which he ignored her protests and made abusive comments while forcing himself upon her.
This recording was played to the jury, which contributed to their guilty verdict.
Donaldson was then sentenced to seven years' imprisonment at the High Court in Edinburgh.
The court also highlighted that his first known assault occurred in 1997, when he attacked a woman who had spent the evening drinking and was unable to resist, pulling her trousers off during the assault.
Additionally, the court noted that his offending persisted around 2005 or early 2006, with a second woman being assaulted in similar circumstances, after he secretly recorded her and made her face him about his actions.
The judge emphasized the seriousness of Donaldson’s conduct and imposed appropriate punitive penalties.
