BRUTAL RAPIST JAILED FOR 10 YEARS AFTER CHOKING WOMAN WITH FAIRY LIGHTS IN SEVEN KINGS
A man named Hernany Ernesto De-Brito, aged 22, has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for a brutal sexual assault and false imprisonment in her own home in Seven Kings.The incident involved De-Brito visiting the woman's home with two friends, and after they left, he took her keys and locked her inside.
During the attack, he throttled her with fairy lights pulled from her Christmas tree until her eyes turned bloodshot, and also beat her severely, causing serious injuries.
The woman was subjected to three instances of rape and was choked with a string of fairy lights.
She was bitten during the attack and was unable to escape until around 6 a.m.
the following morning, when De-Brito fell asleep, allowing her to use a spare set of keys to flee.
The victim suffered significant trauma, including bleeding between her brain and skull, and continues to experience panic attacks.
The trial judge, Judge Louise Kamill, described the rapes as "three-fold and took place in three different ways over a period of false imprisonment which lasted about two hours in the victim’s own home." De-Brito was convicted by a jury after only five hours of deliberation on charges including three counts of rape, choking with intent to rape, false imprisonment, assault by penetration, and causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
Additionally, he will serve 40 weeks consecutive for previous charges of drunkenness and disorderly conduct.
As part of his sentencing, he was ordered to sign the sex offenders register for life.
The woman received medical treatment following the attack, and the court noted the lasting psychological impact on her.
