HENRY BLACK CAUGHT IN ELGIN SEX OFFENSES BUT ESCAPES JAIL SENTENCE
In December 2016, a man from Elgin who engaged in disturbing online behavior towards minors narrowly avoided incarceration despite being convicted of serious sexual misconduct. The case was heard at Elgin Sheriff Court, where Henry Black, aged 42, was found guilty of multiple offenses involving the exploitation of young girls through social media platforms.Black was convicted of exposing himself to a girl under the age of 16 on Facebook, an act that led to her viewing a sexual image. The court also found him guilty of exposing himself to a girl younger than 13, as well as sending her a video of himself performing a solo sex act. These actions constitute grave violations of the law and highlight the dangers posed by online predators targeting vulnerable minors.
Henry Black, who resides alone in Cockmuir Place, Elgin, was sentenced to a six-month curfew, restricting his movements during specified hours. Additionally, he will be under supervision for a period of three years, during which he must adhere to certain conditions, including the completion of a social work program aimed at rehabilitation and monitoring.
Furthermore, Black has been prohibited from having any contact with children under the age of 17 unless accompanied by an adult. As part of his sentence, he has also been placed on the sex offenders register, ensuring ongoing monitoring and public safety measures. Despite the severity of his convictions, the court opted for a non-custodial sentence, emphasizing the importance of supervision and community safety in this case.
