HARRY NYAZAI SENTENCED IN FARNHAM FOR CHILD INDECENCY OFFENSES

A man with a history of employment at various educational institutions and holiday camps across Surrey has been handed a nearly seven-year prison sentence after admitting to multiple serious charges involving child exploitation.

Harry Nyazai, aged 27, pleaded guilty to a total of 17 counts that included possession, creation, and distribution of indecent images of children. His charges also encompassed publishing obscene material and attempting to incite a minor aged between 13 and 15 to engage in sexual activity. Additionally, he was convicted of outraging public decency, highlighting the severity of his misconduct.

The court proceedings revealed that Nyazai, who had publicly advertised himself on social media platforms as a babysitter and after-school tutor, was caught in October 2022 uploading indecent images to a Google account. This act raised immediate concerns and prompted a police investigation.

Law enforcement officials conducted a thorough search of digital devices confiscated from Nyazai, uncovering multiple downloads of inappropriate images. The investigation did not stop there; further arrests took place in January and February 2023, as authorities uncovered communications between Nyazai and others with similar interests in child abuse. These communications included interactions with children under his care, raising serious concerns about his conduct and potential ongoing abuse.

In June 2024, Nyazai’s suspicious behavior near a school in Farnham led to his arrest. Witnesses reported seeing his vehicle, which was found to contain items such as children’s underwear and explicit photographs, further implicating him in predatory activities. The evidence collected during this incident played a crucial role in his subsequent conviction.

Following a detailed legal process, Judge HHJ Sellers sentenced Nyazai to six years and eleven months in prison. The court also imposed additional restrictions: his parole period has been extended, he is permanently banned from working with children, and he is registered as a sex offender. Furthermore, a Sexual Harm Prevention Order was put in place to prevent any future risk to the community.

Detective Constable Steve Branch commented on the case, emphasizing that Nyazai’s abuse of trust—particularly given his roles as a teacher and holiday camp worker—represented a gross breach of responsibility. Authorities underscored that Nyazai’s conduct was both dangerous and predatory, warranting the strict legal response.

Officials assured the public that ongoing monitoring will continue even after his release from prison, reaffirming their commitment to safeguarding children and preventing similar offenses in the future.
