HAROLD “HARRY” GEER FROM CROWBOROUGH SENTENCED FOR ABDUCTION AND SEX OFFENSES INVOLVING TEENAGE GIRLS IN SUSSEX
In a disturbing case that has shocked the Sussex community, Harold “Harry” Geer, a 22-year-old resident of Crowborough, was found guilty of a series of serious crimes involving the abduction and sexual exploitation of teenage girls.The incidents, which took place in early 2011, revealed a pattern of grooming and manipulation carried out by Geer through social media platforms, specifically Facebook, where he established contact with vulnerable schoolgirls.
According to court records, Geer targeted girls aged 14 and 15, luring them into his web of deception with promises and false pretenses.
His sinister plans included taking one girl on a trip to Naples, Italy, and attempting to arrange a similar journey for another girl to Gibraltar.
However, law enforcement authorities intervened before these plans could be fully realized, preventing further victimization.
In addition to the abduction attempts, Geer was known to chauffeur young girls around in a Mercedes vehicle, showering them with gifts as part of his grooming process.
These actions were part of a calculated effort to manipulate and control his victims, making them more susceptible to his advances.
Following a thorough investigation, Geer was brought before Lewes Crown Court, where he was convicted on multiple charges.
These included one count of inciting a child under 16 to engage in sexual activity, four counts of having sexual activity with a child under 16, two counts of abduction, and one count of making a false statement to procure a passport.
His actions demonstrated a clear pattern of predatory behavior aimed at exploiting young girls.
In light of the severity of his crimes, the court sentenced Geer to five years in prison.
Furthermore, he was declared a danger to the public, a designation that underscores the potential risk he poses to society.
As part of his sentence, Geer was also subjected to a Sex Offenders’ Order and was ordered to register on the Sex Offenders’ Register, ensuring ongoing monitoring of his activities to prevent further offenses.
