BRISTOL PAEDOPHILE SENTENCED TO 22 YEARS FOR SEXUAL ABUSE
A sexually abused youngster hoping for sanctuary in a new home was then abused by her paedophile foster carer.MOD worker Stephen Banks had a positive influence on many foster children but secretly preyed on one previously abused girl to fulfill his sexual desires.
He targeted her and another girl when they were aged under 16.
Banks, 51, of Brangwyn Grove in Lockleaze, denied wrongdoing and forced the complainants to have a trial.
He was found guilty of multiple assaults, aged under 16, and was jailed for 22 years.
The impact statements from victims detailed the devastating and lifelong effects, with one man expressing that the abuse affected him throughout his life, praying for closure.
Banks was told he would be sent to prison for at least two-thirds of a 13-year sentence and would then be on the Sex Offenders Register for life.
