MORAY MAN ADMITS ASSAULTING WIFE AFTER HEAVY DRINKING
A man from Aberlour has admitted to assaulting his wife by knocking her unconscious after a day of heavy drinking and then falling asleep in a chair.Graham Legg, aged 56, was drinking for hours while working in his garden near Aberlour on September 25.
He behaved threateningly and made offensive remarks about his wife's English nationality before punching her in the head.
His daughter heard a loud crashing noise and found Legg calling his wife derogatory names before the confrontation escalated, resulting in him hitting his wife and causing her to lose consciousness.
Paramedics and police attended the scene, and Mrs.
Legg was treated for a burst lip but did not require hospital admission.
Legg expressed remorse, stating he had little recollection of the events and had been drinking spirits.
He has since separated from his wife.
The case was adjourned for sentencing on December 15, with Legg ordered to stay out of trouble and avoid his wife until then.
