GRAHAM HARRISON, 56, JAILED FOR HISTORICAL CHILD RAPE IN NORTH LONDON
Graham Harrison, a 56-year-old resident of Newport Street on the Isle of Wight, has been found guilty of multiple past sexual crimes and received a six-year prison sentence. The offenses took place between 1979 and 1983, when the victim was only seven years old.
During these incidents, Harrison committed acts of rape and made the victim touch him while they were alone.
At the time of the crimes, Harrison was aged between 14 and 17.
The victim reported the abuse to authorities more than 35 years after the events, which led to Harrison’s conviction after a two-week trial at Wood Green Crown Court.
He was convicted on three counts of rape and two counts of indecency with a child, with the jury reaching a unanimous verdict.
On September 17, he was sentenced to six years in prison.
Detective Chief Inspector Adam Downs commended the victim’s resilience and highlighted that investigations into historical sexual offenses can be successful many years later.
He also urged others with similar experiences to come forward, assuring complete police dedication to investigating such cases and providing support to victims.
