GRAHAM CONNOR FROM FORRES FACES COURT OVER THREATENING MESSAGES AND ABUSE

Graham Connor, a 36-year-old man from Forres, made an appearance at Inverness Sheriff Court to formally admit guilt concerning a series of abusive and threatening messages sent to his former girlfriend. The incident stemmed from a brief romantic relationship, which evidently ended on a sour note, leading Connor to send a disturbing sequence of messages via Snapchat.

According to court reports, the messages were highly alarming and included a direct threat. One of the messages explicitly stated, "You better get the f*** out of Forres before I get there," indicating a potential intent to confront or harm. The prosecutor, Shamielah Ghafar, detailed that around 2:45 pm on July 27, the woman received multiple messages that grew increasingly hostile and intimidating. Connor’s messages included derogatory language such as, "You f***ing test me, you are a twisted wee b*******," and he also called her a "patronising wee c***." Furthermore, he warned her to leave Forres, which caused her significant distress and fear.

Fearing for her safety, the woman contacted emergency services by dialing 999. She was particularly frightened that Connor might attempt to come to her residence and cause her harm. The police subsequently took Connor into custody, and he was cautioned in connection with the messages, which contained both offensive language and threats of violence.

During the court proceedings, Connor’s solicitor, John MacColl, provided some context about the relationship. He explained that Connor had only been involved with the woman for a short period and had done much to support her during that time. MacColl also stated that Connor had been "mortified" upon realizing the content of the messages and claimed he had little memory of sending them. He expressed that Connor was "disgusted" when he read the messages and acknowledged the negative impact they could have had on his former partner.

It was also noted that Connor resides in Teaninich, Alness. As a result of his actions, he was fined a total of £210 by the court, serving as a penalty for the offensive language and threats he directed towards his ex-girlfriend.
