INNERLEITHEN: MAN SEXUALLY ASSAULTED WOMAN AT VALE OF LEITHEN CLUB
AN INNERLEITHEN man has been found guilty following a two day trial of sexually assaulting a woman at a local social club.
Fifty-eight-year-old Graeme Dea was convicted of repeatedly touching the woman on her bottom, touching her over her clothing and touching her chest at the Vale of Leithen Social Club on June 13 last year.
Sentence was deferred on Dea, of High Street, until January 19 at Selkirk Sheriff Court for the production of background reports.

Fifty-nine-year-old Graeme Dea was found guilty, following a two-day trial, of repeatedly touching the woman on her bottom, touching her over her clothing and touching her chest at the Vale of Leithen Social Club on June 13, 2024.
Dea, of High Street, was fined £500 with a £40 victim surcharge and also ordered to pay £100 compensation to the victim.
A non-harassment order was imposed for three years banning Dea from having any contact with the victim.
He was also made subject to the notification requirements of the Sexual Offences Act for five years.
