GORAN KAMAL AHMAD, 23, JAILED FOR LIFE FOR SEXUAL ASSAULTS IN SWANSEA AND CARDIFF
A 23-year-old man has received a life sentence following severe sexual assault charges in Swansea and Cardiff.
Goran Kamal Ahmad was convicted by Cardiff Crown Court of raping a woman aged 44 in Butetown, Cardiff, and sexually assaulting a woman aged 29 in Swansea’s Landore district.
He is required to serve a minimum of nine years before being eligible for parole.
The assault in Butetown took place on April 22 of the previous year, while the Swansea incident happened on January 1.
Forensic evidence from both scenes connected the two crimes.
Detective inspector Peter Doyle of South Wales Police's specialist crime unit emphasized the seriousness of the offenses, noting, “These were very serious sexual crimes involving violence, which caused significant trauma to the victims and led to public concern.” The investigation led to Ahmad’s arrest in September when he was identified in the London area.
Detective Doyle stated, “Ahmad is considered a dangerous individual, and his life sentence aims to provide some reassurance to his female victims.” He also encouraged anyone with related concerns to come forward and assured ongoing efforts to investigate similar cases.
