PERTHSHIRE MAN PLEADS GUILTY TO ENDANGERING INFANT WITH COCAINE
A man named Goe Wheeler has pleaded guilty to endangering the life of a two-month-old baby by allowing the infant to ingest cocaine, a Class A drug.
The incident occurred in Perthshire, in 2020, at an address in Blairgowrie.
Wheeler was responsible for looking after the baby at the time and the child was found to have cocaine in his system, which was confirmed through hospital tests after the child's mother noticed he was unwell.
Wheeler admitted to the charge of endangering the child's life and the sheriff, David Hall, decided to defer the sentence until social work reports and a review of possible restrictions of liberty are prepared.
Wheeler also faced a separate charge for possessing ecstasy, to which he pleaded not guilty and was granted bail.
The case highlights the serious nature of endangering a child's safety through drug exposure.
