BLAIRGOWRIE MAN ORDERED TO DO UNPAID WORK FOR ABUSIVE HARASSMENT OF EX
An abusive ex-boyfriend named Francis Henvey engaged in a campaign of harassment against his former partner, which included making a large number of phone calls, emails, and false allegations. After her not replying to hundreds of messages and calls, Henvey rang her workplace and made unfounded and damaging allegations that could have jeopardized her employment.
He also contacted her boss, knowing how important her career was to her, and made false claims that put her job at risk.
Despite her reporting his behavior to police and installing recording devices at her home for safety, Henvey continued to be unreasonable.
He admitted during court proceedings to a course of abusive behavior spanning from July 2024 to January 2025 and acknowledged his conduct was 'completely uncalled for and unreasonable.' The court heard that he had called her over 212 times in a day and sent numerous emails, creating multiple accounts to reach her when blocked.
His actions left her feeling extremely fearful, and she sought a non-harassment order to protect herself.
The court sentenced Henvey to carry out 120 hours of unpaid work, placed him on supervised release for six months, and imposed a nine-month non-harassment order.
The judge described his behavior as 'horrible, horrible' and emphasized that it was unacceptable, even though he claimed to be unaware of his abusive conduct.
The case was handled at Perth Sheriff Court, and Henvey was ordered to adhere to the supervision and non-harassment conditions to prevent further abuse.
