GLYN JONES CAUGHT IN COLWYN BAY FOR CHILD INDECENCY OFFENSES
In a case that has sent shockwaves through the community of Colwyn Bay, Glyn Trevor Jones, a man with a troubling history linked to the possession of indecent images of children, has been brought to justice.Originally residing in Old Colwyn, within the town of Colwyn Bay, Jones’s criminal activities spanned over a year, from November 2014 to October 2017, during which he downloaded a variety of indecent images depicting children in various states of abuse, including some that involved the rape of young children.
In September 2017, it was revealed that Jones, who at the time was living in Lincoln, had changed his plea and admitted to the charges.
His actions involved the downloading of images that covered all levels of the scale, indicating a disturbing escalation in the severity of the material he possessed.
The court heard that Jones’s offenses were particularly egregious given his prior employment history, which included roles that brought him into contact with children.
These roles included working as a coach driver for Alpine Coaches, serving as a chef at Eirias High School, and working as a support worker at Llandrillo College.
Glyn Trevor Jones, aged 37 at the time of sentencing, faced the consequences of his actions in a court hearing.
Despite the gravity of his crimes, he was handed a two-year suspended prison sentence, a decision that drew mixed reactions from the public and legal observers alike.
In addition to the suspended sentence, Jones was ordered to pay costs amounting to £1,700.
