BLACKROD MAN AVOIDS JAIL AFTER DOWNLOADING CHILD AND ANIMAL PORN DUE TO SEX ADDICTION
A man named Glenn Millard, residing in Eskdale Avenue, Blackrod, was involved in criminal activities related to child and animal pornography. When police raided his property on October 28, they discovered nine hard drives, two computer towers, and pen drives.
These devices contained over one million legal pornographic images alongside 1,109 illegal images of children and animals, with ages ranging from two to 16 years old.
Among these illegal images, 224 were classified as most serious Category A.
Millard, aged 44, admitted to making child porn, possessing extreme animal porn, and holding a prohibited image of a child.
During court proceedings, his defense stated that Millard, a reportedly hardworking husband and father, had viewed and then deleted the illicit material.
He claimed his actions were driven by a sexual addiction, which he recognized and sought help for.
Magistrates sentenced him to eight months in prison, suspended for 18 months, and ordered him to complete 30 days of rehabilitation.
Additionally, he was placed on the sex offenders' register for ten years.
The judge acknowledged that Millard had no previous convictions and accepted that his behavior stemmed from psychological issues rooted in long-standing problems, urging him to put this episode behind him and support his family.
