RAYLEIGH MAN GLEN BARTLETT SENTENCED TO 20 YEARS FOR CHILD SEX OFFENCES IN NORWICH
In a case that has shocked the community of Rayleigh, Glen Bartlett, a 60-year-old resident of Downhall Park Way, was handed a severe prison sentence of 20 years after being convicted of multiple child sexual offences.The allegations against Bartlett came to light following an investigation by Essex Police, which led to his arrest in October 2015.
The accusations involved two young boys, both under the age of 16, and spanned over a period of ten years, with the earliest incidents dating back to the late 1970s and continuing into the 1980s.
According to court records, Bartlett faced a total of 12 charges, including 10 counts of buggery and two counts of indecent assault on a boy under 16.
The charges were formally brought against him on Saturday, May 20, after a thorough investigation and collection of evidence.
The case was brought before Norwich Crown Court, where Bartlett stood trial for his alleged crimes.
Following a day-long trial, the jury found Bartlett guilty of all charges on Wednesday, September 27.
