VIOLENT OFFENDER GETHIN HOWELLS JAILED AGAIN FOR BREACHING RESTRAINING ORDER AFTER ASSAULTING PARTNER
Gethin Howells, aged 38, was previously sentenced to 18 months imprisonment in 2023 after being convicted of assaulting, suffocating, and threatening to kill his partner.
After his release in December 2023, he was subjected to a restraining order.
Despite this, Howells breached the order by returning to his former partner's address on New Year's Day while intoxicated, knocking and kicking her door for five minutes to demand his belongings.
When she opened the door, he pushed his way inside.
The following day, he threw stones at her windows and called her multiple times from a withheld number.
Police arrested him, and he pleaded guilty to harassment and breach of a restraining order.
The court noted he has five prior convictions, three of which are related to violence against the same victim.
During sentencing, Judge Celia Hughes described Howells's actions as a 'blatant and persistent breach,' and he was sentenced to an additional 12 months in prison.
