GERALD WILSON OF LOCKERBIE SENTENCED FOR HORRIFIC CHILD SEX ABUSE IN DUMFRIES AND GALLOWAY
In a deeply disturbing case that has shocked the community of Lockerbie and the wider Dumfries and Galloway region, Gerald Wilson, aged 67, has been sentenced to 10 years in prison after admitting to a series of heinous crimes involving the sexual abuse of multiple children over a span of several years.
Wilson's crimes came to light after one of his victims, a young girl, bravely reported the abuse to authorities in 2013, prompting a thorough investigation that uncovered a pattern of disturbing behavior dating back to the late 1980s and early 1990s.
The court heard that Wilson had subjected the girl to repeated sexual assaults over a period of five years during the 1990s, beginning when she was just seven or eight years old.
