GEORGE HALL SENTENCED FOR CHILD SEX OFFENCES IN OLD WINDSOR
In a recent development stemming from a thorough investigation by Thames Valley Police, a man has been formally sentenced to a significant prison term for heinous sex offences committed against a young girl in Windsor. The individual in question, George Hall, aged 72 and residing on Church Road in Old Windsor, faced justice at Reading Crown Court on Thursday, May 25th.During the court proceedings, Hall was handed a sentence of nine years behind bars. Additionally, he will be registered on the sex offenders register indefinitely, ensuring ongoing monitoring of his activities and preventing any further harm to the community.
The case against Hall was brought to a close after a trial held earlier this year, where a jury of his peers reached a unanimous verdict. The jury found Hall guilty of one count of indecent assault on a girl under the age of 14, as well as two counts of inciting a girl under 16 to commit acts of gross indecency. Despite the conviction on these charges, Hall was acquitted of a second count of indecent assault involving a girl under 14.
The offences in question occurred over a two-year period, from September 1, 1999, to September 1, 2001, in Windsor. The victim, who was under the age of seven at the time, was subjected to repeated abuse by Hall. It was established that Hall had ingratiated himself with the victim’s family, often babysitting her. During these times, he engaged in sexual assault and coerced her into performing indecent acts on him, actions that have caused lasting trauma and pain.
The court’s decision underscores the severity of Hall’s crimes and the importance of safeguarding vulnerable children from predators. The community of Old Windsor can now be assured that justice has been served, and measures are in place to prevent such incidents from recurring.
