MAHON BOXER SPIKE O’SULLIVAN CONVICTED OF ASSAULTING EX-PARTNER
IRISH middleweight champion boxer Spike O’Sullivan, whose full name is Gary ‘Spike’ O’Sullivan, was involved in a domestic incident outside a residence in Mahon, Cork.He was convicted of assaulting his ex-partner, Sharon Cronin, during this incident.
According to witnesses, including Yvonne Gabriel, O’Sullivan was seen hitting Cronin with his left hand, punching her in the face and causing her to spin around.

Gabriel testified that she heard shouting and saw Spike punching her into the jaw, with Cronin screaming at her to call the guards, which she did.
Spike O’Sullivan claimed during the trial that he was the victim and that Cronin assaulted him first with a Nintendo DS, which he alleged caused her to fall and result in her injuries.
He denied the assault and said he was merely defending himself.
The judge, Olann Kelleher, convicted O’Sullivan of the assault and fined him €300, though Spike indicated that he plans to appeal the case.
