INVERBERVIE MAN ADMITS TO BRUTAL ASSAULT ON GIRLFRIEND USING CUBAN HEELS
Gary Hindley, a man from Inverbervie, has admitted to physically assaulting his former partner, including stamping on her head with his Cuban heel boots.Court proceedings revealed that Hindley subjected the woman to nearly nine months of abuse, which involved pushing her to the ground, punching her stomach repeatedly, and dragging her by her hair.
The court heard that the woman sustained various injuries over incidents between June 2020 and February 2021.
In June 2020, the woman alleges Hindley pushed her down and stamped on her head and hand using his Cuban heels, causing swelling and bruising to her head and eye.
On February 27, 2021, during a drinking session, Hindley lunged at her during an argument, pushed her to the ground, punched her, and dragged her by her hair again.
A friend, who was asleep on the couch at the time, witnessed Hindley standing over the woman, punching her in the stomach, and accusing her of being at fault.
Police found the woman with swelling and bruising on her arm and back, leading to Hindley's arrest.
Hindley breached a condition not to contact her by messaging her on Facebook the following day, resulting in re-arrest.
Hindley's defense acknowledged the seriousness of the charges.
The case was deferred for a social work report and a restriction of liberty assessment, and no final sentencing was provided at this stage.
