“HE CONTROLLED MY CLOTHES, MY FRIENDS — EVEN MY BODY HAIR”
A man sentenced today to 200 hours of community service, alongside an 18-month supervision order and an 18-month non-harassment order, has been at the centre of shocking allegations from his former partner following a violent incident that left her friend permanently scarred.Fritz Morgan Mbah Mbabid faced charges including Assault, Assault to Injury, and Culpable & Reckless Conduct, as well as offences under the Criminal Justice and Licensing (Scotland) Act 2010 S38(1) and the Police and Fire Reform (Scotland) Act 2012 S90(1)(A) and S90(2)(A).
A separate charge relating to the attempted biting of a police officer was dropped.
Speaking out after sentencing, his former on-and-off partner of nearly three years described what she says was a deeply controlling relationship behind closed doors.
“He dictated what I wore, who I spoke to — even what body hair I was ‘allowed’ to shave,” she claimed.
She further alleges that during their relationship he was repeatedly unfaithful, and that after being diagnosed with sexually transmitted infections including chlamydia and gonorrhoea, he blamed her — despite her insisting she had not been with anyone else.
She also claims he accused her of infecting him with hepatitis B — something she says medical tests later confirmed she did not have.
According to her account, tensions reached boiling point after she discovered what she describes as a third instance of cheating and ended the relationship.
That’s when, she says, things turned violent.
When a friend intervened to protect her during the confrontation, she alleges that Mbabid attacked him — biting his arm twice in an incident that has reportedly left lasting scarring.
Police were called to the scene, but officers were met with such resistance that multiple units attended, including two police cars, a van and a riot vehicle.
Six officers were ultimately required to carry him down the communal stairwell, according to the witness.
Despite the dramatic arrest and the injuries sustained, today’s sentence has left the victim feeling justice has fallen short.
“After everything that’s happened, I just don’t feel like it reflects the seriousness of what we went through,” she said.
The non-harassment order now legally prevents Mbabid from contacting her for the next 18 months.
