FREDERICK JACKSON'S SHOCKING CHILD SEX ABUSE IN DURHAM REVEALED

In a disturbing case that has sent shockwaves through the Durham community, Frederick Jackson, aged 56, was sentenced to seven years in prison after admitting to the sexual abuse of three children over two decades ago.

The offences, which spanned more than twenty years, involved a young girl and two boys, one of whom was diagnosed with autism.

Jackson, who previously worked as a kitchen porter at Finchale College in Durham, faced multiple charges related to his heinous actions.

During the court proceedings at Durham Crown Court, the prosecution, led by Anne Richardson, detailed that the victims are now adults, with ages ranging from 18 to their 30s.

Jackson, who has been married for 31 years and formerly resided in the Belmont and Bearpark areas near Durham, did not deny the allegations when questioned.

The crimes came to light in October of the previous year, when Jackson was arrested at a caravan situated at Cocken Lodge Farm in Leamside, near Durham, where he was living at the time.

In his police interview, Jackson admitted responsibility for some of the offences, openly stating that he was driven by sexual urges.

He also confessed to offering one of the girls involved a sum of five pounds to perform indecent acts, expressing feelings of deep shame for his actions.

His admission was part of a plea that included five counts of indecent assault and one count of inciting a boy to commit an act of gross indecency.

Notably, Jackson denied a charge of rape involving a 26-year-old woman, which the prosecution chose to leave on file.

During mitigation, Chris Morrison highlighted Jackson’s troubled sexual history, noting that he had been dysfunctional sexually from an early age.

Morrison explained that Jackson married young and had settled into family life, but his criminal behaviour was exacerbated by pornography and alcohol consumption.

Morrison also revealed that Jackson had attempted to take his own life in 2002, indicating the profound impact of his struggles.

Judge Maurice Carr, after reviewing pre-sentence reports, remarked that Jackson appeared to have developed a sense of remorse, stating that he seemed to feel “disgusted” with his conduct.

The judge emphasized the seriousness of the crimes and the need to protect the community, especially vulnerable children.

As part of his sentence, Jackson was disqualified from working with children and was placed on the sex offenders’ register for life, ensuring ongoing monitoring of his activities to prevent further harm.
