FABIAN HENRY FROM BRISTOL AND HACKNEY SENTENCED FOR CHILD SEX OFFENSES AND ABDUCTION

In a case that has shocked the communities of Bristol and Hackney, Fabian Henry, aged 30, has been sentenced to 12 years in prison following a series of heinous crimes involving minors. The court proceedings revealed a disturbing pattern of predatory behavior, including the rape of a teenage girl in her flat, the abduction of a 15-year-old girl, and grooming activities involving a 17-year-old.

The judge at Bristol Crown Court described Henry as 'devious, callous, and manipulative,' emphasizing the severity of his actions and the danger he posed to young girls. The mother of one of the victims expressed her anguish, stating, 'It could have been longer, maybe 15 or 16 years. He took away her innocence. He vandalized her life and she has got to live with that for the rest of her life.' The court heard that Henry's criminal conduct demonstrated a clear inappropriate sexual interest in girls significantly younger than himself, and his ability to exert power over them was a central concern.

As part of his sentence, Henry was issued a Sexual Offences Prevention Order, which prohibits him from having unsupervised contact with minors. Additionally, he is required to register as a sex offender for life, underscoring the ongoing risk he poses.

The conviction followed a jury's swift three-hour deliberation in June, which found Henry guilty of abducting a 15-year-old girl and engaging in sexual activity with her. Evidence presented during the trial included DNA analysis that matched Henry to a condom recovered from a flat in Flowers Close, London, where the girl was taken. Henry, a father of three, denied the allegations, claiming he did not abduct the girl or have sexual relations with her.

The court was told that the girl had been experiencing difficulties at home in recent years, leading her to run away multiple times. Her distress was evident when she sent text messages to her father, claiming she had been kidnapped. Following a missing person’s appeal, police officers from the Metropolitan Police responded early the next morning, around 3:45 am, to a flat in Hackney. There, they discovered Henry with the girl under a duvet, confirming her account.

The girl’s father testified that when she disappeared, he received alarming texts from her phone, including messages such as 'Help,' 'He took me,' and 'Dad.' A series of urgent messages detailed her alleged kidnapping, with her stating, 'He’s driving me somewhere in the back of his car, he tied up my feet,' and expressing her fear and confusion.

Forensic scientist Kim Edwards explained that her analysis of the condom found at the Hackney flat was consistent with sexual intercourse involving Henry and the girl, with the use of a condom. The court also heard a recording of a phone call Henry made from Wormwood Scrubs prison, where he made lewd suggestions to the girl, asked for money, and professed his love for her. The girl responded by saying she missed him and loved him.

Henry claimed that he was introduced to the girl by his cousin in Bristol, and that they exchanged phone numbers. He admitted to calling her more than 1,000 times between September and December, although he insisted not all calls were conversations. Despite his denials, the jury found him guilty of the charges.

In a related case from June 2013, Henry was convicted of grooming a 17-year-old girl, forcing her into sexual acts, and posting indecent images of her online. The victim recounted how Henry messaged her before they met in Bristol, where he then assaulted her in a flat and threatened to publish the photos he had taken. She reported the incident to police after the images circulated.

This series of convictions highlights the disturbing extent of Fabian Henry’s criminal activities across Bristol and Hackney, leaving a lasting impact on the victims and their families. His sentencing marks a significant step in addressing the serious offenses committed by this individual, whose actions have caused widespread concern and outrage in the communities involved.
